16 Page Port of Cromarty Firth Supplement 01/04/2014
The Port of Cromarty Firth has released a 16 page supplement, detailing expansion plans and the future of its commercial development.

We are Scotland’s premier deep water port. We operate a 35 acre oil & gas engineering facility based at Invergordon, which supports between 600 - 1,300 FTE jobs. Overall in 2013,  £1bn in goods and services were shipped through the Port of Cromarty Firth.

The Port was created by Act of Parliament in 1973 (The Cromarty Firth Port Authority Order of Confirmation Act). It is one of over 100 Trust Ports in the United Kingdom — 35 of which are in Scotland.

The location of the Port is strategically important for access to the North Sea and West of Shetland oil fields and it has played an intrinsic role in the safe delivery of marine and engineering solutions to the oil & gas sector for over 40 years. In this time it has handled over 650 rig visits.

In the face of stiff competition from around Europe, the Port is changing its business model to a more commercial one, targeting growth by attracting partners, through joint ventures and other mechanisms, to expand activities.

We have also embarked on a £25m expansion project, targeted to be completed by Summer 2015.  This will provide the Port with an additional 9 acres of laydown and another deep water berth.
