Family Fun Day Saturday 22nd June 18/06/2013
The Cromarty Firth Port Authority is holding its 8th Annual Family Open Day on Saturday June 22nd.  Held in partnership with the RNLI, this is an opportunity for the community of Invergordon to tour the Service Base, meet the Port Board as well as the new Chief Executive and Harbour Master and find out more about the activities that take place at the Port.  All funds raised on the day are donated to the RNLI.

The Pilot Boat will be offering free trips out on the Cromarty Firth and the RNLI Lifeboat will be open to the public.  The Black Rock Ceilidh band are back by popular demand, as well as a programme of traditional Highland dancers and pipers.

Subject to operational requirements, the Search & Rescue Helicopter will be performing a rescue exercise in the Cromarty Firth.  A variety of craft stalls will be available, representing a variety of local artists and skilled crafts people.    Once again, the Emergency Services will be present, adding a much appreciated presence to the day, with Police Scotland and the Invergordon Fire Service all contributing and always hugely popular.

This year, visitors will have the opportunity to “walk on water”, with two WOW balls available.  These hamster style balls allow you to run, walk and float on water and were a big highlight at last year’s event.

All money raised on the day goes to the RNLI and the event will be running between 11am and 4pm, Saturday 22nd June.
