New Chairman Announced for CFPA Board 04/09/2012

Cromarty Firth Port Authority (CFPA) Board are pleased to announce the appointment of Sandy Cumming to succeed Neil McArthur as Chairman of the Port Authority.
Neil McArthur will step down from the Port Board at the end of his tenure on 31 December this year.  Former HIE Chief Executive, Sandy, will then take over the reins.

Neil will have completed 2 very successful three year terms on the Board, with the last three years as Chairman.  During this period, the Port has experienced significant growth, with turnover in 2011 108% higher than it was in 2007.  This has also been a period of regeneration of Port facilities, with over 76% of net profits re-invested.

Sandy Cumming will take up the post of Chairman on 1 January 2013.  His extensive local knowledge and experience of tackling the economic regeneration of Easter Ross and Highland communities make him ideally suited to the leadership of this Trust Port.
Sandy joined the CFPA Board following a career spanning over 38 years in economic and community development, during which he served as HIE Chief Executive for almost 10 years.  Prior to taking that appointment Sandy spent 5 years as Chief Executive of Ross & Cromarty Enterprise based in Invergordon.  On leaving HIE in 2010, Sandy worked for 12 months with the Scottish Government on offshore renewable energy developments.
