Port Expansion Project Update 25/05/2015
With the shoreline of the Cromarty Firth literally changing shape, communities around Invergordon are being given the opportunity to view progress with the multi-million £ port reclamation project, due to be completed in August 2015.

A public exhibition will be held by the Port of Cromarty Firth to showcase the major enhancements to their current facilities at the Invergordon Service Base, following an investment by the Trust Port of more than £24million.

Since February 2014, work has been underway to reclaim nine acres of seabed and construct a new 154mtr deep-water quay.  The new facilities will open up new markets and business opportunities in the Cromarty Firth, helping to ensure the continued growth and long term future of the Port, for the benefits of all its stakeholders.

Bob Buskie, Chief Executive of Port of Cromarty Firth looks forward to discussing the progress of this major expansion with members of the public. He said: “This is a truly exciting time and I am delighted that the public will have the opportunity to be updated as the project enters its final stage of construction. The expansion project aims to secure the long-term future of the Port through a programme of going investment and regeneration.”

The public exhibition will be held at the Arts Centre, Invergordon High Street, on Thursday 28th May between 5-7pm.
