Another First for the Cromarty Firth |

Atlantis Resources Corporation has today, 12 August 2010, unveiled its prototype AK-1000 Tidal Current Turbine which has been assembled by Isleburn Engineering on the Invergordon Service Base. This structure stands over 22 metres high with a rota diameter of 18 metres. The unit will be shipped to Emec by the new subsea ship 'Skandi Skolten'.

The Port open day on the 26 June 2010, jointly organised by CFPA and the RNLI, was an overwhelming success. An estimated 2,500 visitors enjoyed the opportunity to see the port and local lifeboat in action, including helicopter search and rescue exercise with the lifeboat. Other attractions included craft stalls, Fat Yak challenge, minibus tours around the Service Base and much more. A big thank you to everybody who supported the event which raised funds for the RNLI.

Local Firm awarded major contract by CFPA |

Pat Munro of Alness has been awarded a contract at the Invergordon Service Base to block pave 16,700m2 of port operational land; this work will commence in late June and take 4 months to complete.
Captain Ken Gray the Port Manager/Harbour Master said "We are pleased to support local businesses in developing further the infrastructure of the Invergordon Service Base. This work is part of a five year £4.5m programme of improving facilities and services for the benefit of our customers and will strengthen our position within the energy market."
