Rig Carrier in the Firth
The Mighty Servant 1, which has been anchored off Cromarty for several days, is getting ready to leave later today, 17 September, subject to weather conditions

The specialist Dutch heavy lift ship, 190 metres in length and 40,910 tonnes, arrived Tuesday 11 September to pick up the semi-submersible oil rig 'Sedco 706' and transport it to Singapore.

The Sedco 706 has been in the Queen's Dock at Invergordon for several months undergoing work.

On Friday 14 September the deck of the Mighty Servant 1 could be seen to ballast down in readiness for the rig to be floated onto the carrier on Saturday 15 September.  After the ballast up of the carrier, work has been underway to make the rig secure for the journey to Singapore where she will undertake a major refurbishment and upgrade.
