Buoy for the Ettrick Field
The 430 tonne Submerged Transit Loading buoy, which has been a feature of the Invergordon Service Base for more than six months, was towed out to the Ettrick oil field on the UKCS in early December 2007.

This is the first time an offshore buoy of this size has been mobilised from the Service Base.  The assembly and load out of the buoy and its nine moorings required the use of four towing vessels and several shore based cranes, including one with a 1,200 tonne capacity.  Once on location offshore the buoy will form the lower part of the mooring turret for a Floating, Prodution, Storage & Offloading (FPSO) vessel.
