| CFPA plays host to Chernobyl Children |
|
A group of 14 youngsters from Belarus enjoyed time at CFPA's Port Office as part of an activity packed month long trip to the north of Scotland.
For the group of nine and ten year olds, supported by the Chernobyl Children Life Line charity, it was a memorable day learning how to navigate the firth using CFPA's pilotage simulator, following which the RNLI showed them around the lifeboat station and took them out on the lifeboat. Alan Wilson, secretary of Chernobyl Children Life Line, which brings in 4,000 kids to the UK each year, said that because the children benefit from good quality air, food and water as well as healthy exercise, just one month here extends each child's life by three to four years. CFPA are grateful for the gifts provided to add to the goodie bags for the children, especially SER Supplies and Julie Reilly of Swift Catering. |
